Austro2007/FORMEC´07 is an international meeting for forest operations with a focus on steep terrain harvesting as well as woody biomass production. We would like to encourage all people involved with an interest in forest operations to attend this meeting.
The meeting will consist of a two day technical conference on New Developments in Forest Engineering, followed by an optional one or two-day visit to AUSTROFOMA 2007.
Austro is held every 4 years and this will be the 2nd meeting. Austro2003 was a very successful meeting, held in Stift Schlägl (Upper Austria) with 93 participants and 37 technical presentations. Meeting Location

Austro2007 will be held in Vienna at the Schloss Wilhelminenberg. This hotel not only provides excellent conference facilities, but also has a beautiful panoramic view over the historic city of Vienna.

 

Meeting Objectives

  • Bring together researchers, practitioners and government officials from different countries to share state-of-the-art knowledge of harvesting operations, with a focus on steep terrain
  • Provide an opportunity to see state-of-the-art harvesting technology at the AUSTROFOMA 2007 machine exhibition
  • Strengthen the effort to establish and enhance an international forest engineering network

Austrofoma

AUSTROFOMA 2007 is a live demonstration and presentation of forest machinery in Austrian forest conditions. The focus is on steep terrain harvesting technology and environmentally sensitive forest practices. Approximately 100 exhibitors and over 10,000 visitors are expected.

Registration/Conference Costs

To register for Austro2007 please complete the Registration Form. The conference costs, which includes the Ice Breaker, Lunch and Dinner for both conference days, transportation and entrance fee to the AUSTROFOMA 2007, is € 230,- for people who register prior to September 1st, 2007. For registration after this date, the cost is € 280,-; students can apply for a reduction of € 50,-.
