Forest ecosystem modelling
In the field "Forest ecosystem modelling" the Institute of Silviculture develops and applys different kind of models (PICUS, MOSES, BGC, iLand). Those models help to illustrate and understand the pocesses of the complex system of a given ecosytem (e.g.: photosynthesis, interactions between individual trees) and their interacton to disturbances (e.g.: climate change, wind, fire) or silvicultural management strategies.
- Development and application of dynamic forest ecosystem model (PICUS)
- Development and application of tree growth model (MOSES)
- Development and application of biogeochemical-mechanistic ecosystem modelling (BGC)
- Development and application of individual-based forest landscape and disturbance model (iLand)
