... is employed as research assistant at the Institute of Silviculture since April 2016.
Within the project RESIN (Forest disturbance in a changing world) he is investigating disturbance patterns at global, regional and local scale in temperate forests. Methodically he is using a broad range of methods from remote sensing (Landsat products), simulation studies (iLAND), and empirical field work.
Andreas got a bachelor degree in Forest Science at the Technical University Dresden (2011), a master degree in Forest Science at the BOKU (2015, Master thesis: "Lichtökologische Untersuchungen zur Verjüngung der Buche (Fagus sylvatica L.) im Wienerwald"), and a master degree in Wildlife Ecology and Wildlife Management at the BOKU (2015, Master thesis: "Is there evidence for wolf-triggered trophic cascades in Dinaric forest ecosystem?").
Beside Forest ecology and disturbance dynamics Andreas is also very interested in silvicultural aspects and impacts of wildlife forest dynamics.
