Forming and training a national expert group on adaptation measures to climate change

Knowledge on climate sensitive management of forests is crucial for the implementation of adaptation and mitigation strategies. Such knowledge is seen as the main determinant for the capability of a country to buffer itself against negative consequences of climate change.
In this work package, a national expert group will be formed. This will consist of officials from different Government Departments concerned with land use and climate change. A selection process will be started by the work package participants and a series of workshops will train the experts and define their role in climate change adaptation and mitigation.
